About Our School
Our Story
Heather started her teaching career in Germany before returning back to the UK in 1981 making her home here in Norwich. After holding classes in many venues in the city, the school moved into its own premises at 47 Cowgate Street, where the school continues to grow today.
After having her own professional dancing career, Sarah, her daughter, joined her in 1993. Georgia granddaughter and daughter joined in 2013 after her professional dancing career.
Heather, Sarah and Georgia are supported by a number of other teachers specialising in a variety of dance disciplines, drama, and singing.
Tuition is provided for over 200 students of all ages, including adults, each week. A large proportion of the students have the opportunity to gain formal accreditation for their learning through an examination process through the International Dance Teachers Association (ITDA). The school has maintained its 100 percent pass rate, and in addition has secured national awards as a result of obtaining extremely high examination results in some subjects.
Every year the school celebrates its success collectively at its annual ‘Prize Giving’ event. The day offers family and friends the opportunity to see students show case their work, as well as congratulating students on their personal achievements throughout the year.
All students are offered the chance to take part in the schools main production, which is held bi-annually at the Theatre Royal Norwich. Throughout the year other productions are also in progress, all of which are directed by the school’s own teachers, or the students are selected to take part in external productions.
The school remains committed to placing its students at the core, which contribute towards it being the friendly and fun environment it is today. This coupled with the creative challenges the school continually sets itself means that it always progressing, and involved in new and exciting ventures where possible.
